Caramel Popcorn
It’s a beautiful sunny day here in Bristol and my daughter refuses to come inside the home. She is out there in the backyard, playing in water and mud since morning. So I’m making lots of quick snacks for her to enjoy during play.
I made caramel popcorn for the first time today it came out pretty well. Warning: Cleaning the pan afterwards is quite tough 🤪
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup dry popping corn
- 1/4 cup sugar, I used white sugar
- 1 tbsp water
Method:
- Heat (medium) water and sugar in a pan.
- The sugar will melt and become a white liquid in 3 minutes. After 3 additional minutes, the sugar will become coarse and thick and later melt to form a light brown liquid, which is caramel.
- Add corn and cover the pan. Simmer the heat so that the caramel doesn’t burn. You can hear popping sounds. Once popping sound stops, remove from heat and transfer to a bowl.
Gentle note : when serving to children, make sure there are no corn remains. It might be tough for them to bite.
