Spinach Pulao
It’s long weekend here in UK so my brother and sister are home. We are mostly doing simple one pot family meals so that we spend less time in kitchen and more time chit chatting.
For dinner I made spinach pulao. I used less spices and kept it simple.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 inch ginger
- 2-3 bay leaves
- 1 green chilli
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup peas
- 1.5 cups basmati rice, soaked in hot water for 15 minutes.
- Butter or ghee to cook
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Blend spinach, ginger, garlic and green chilli to a paste and keep aside.
- Heat butter in a pan, add bay leaves and fry onions. Add peas, the paste and cook until raw smell goes away.
- Add basmati rice and salt and cook until done.
